Date: November 15th, 2010
Basseterre, St Kitts, November 15, 2010 — Leeward Flight Services Limited (LFS) has been formed as the operating company of the FBO Terminal of which Veling is the principal shareholder while SCASPA, the Airport Authority, holds a minority shareholding.
In a bold move to develop the aviation industry in the Leeward Islands Veling, an aviation leasing company based in Mauritius, signed a long term concession lease in August, 2010 to build and operate a world class Fixed Base Operation (FBO) at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in St Kitts.
St Kitts is strategically located in the Leeward Islands with an airport that has plenty of space for expansion (a luxury in the Caribbean) and an 8002ft runway; allowing aircraft of all sizes to land and conveniently link to the neighbouring islands of Nevis, St. Barths, St Martin and Anguilla.
Uday Nayak, Chairman of Veling , said “We are excited to be a part of the tourist industry within the Caribbean and our commitment to this FBO project complements St Kitts’ aspirations for their growing tourism industry“.
